MODULE 5
PODCAST WORKSHOP
-I have had two different
ideas as a final task. One of them is to show my pupils how to make a podcast. At
the end of the 80’s and the beginning of the 90’s I was doing radio programs for
some little radio stations from Palma. Nowadays we have a very good option affordable
to anyone: to create a podcast. It’s similar to a radio program.
-Podcasts are
very interesting, like recorded radio programmes. I have learnt to prepare
podcasts during last week. I have launched my own podcast on literature, “La caricia
de las medusas”. I have already recorded six episodes. It is in Spanish
language. You can listen to them here, in this link (but they are also in Spotify
and other platforms):
-To link this issue to our curse I have specially
prepared a new one, called “Hahaha podcast” in English language. Here you can
listen to it. It is a humoristic podcast that I have created with jokes,
tongue-twisters, etc. Enjoy it!
-I think that to launch a
podcast could be a cool idea for the most ambitious among your students. There
are some apps like Spreaker, Anchor, etc. where they can learn to create their
podcasts very easily. In class we are going to work in it. It is to record
their own voices reading what they want (a poem, a short tale…), telling a
joke, etc. Then it is accompanied with sound effects or little musical pieces.
They can send audios to their mates’ podcasts, to collaborate with them…
This is the rubric that I have created to evaluate the podcast created:
TELLING JOKES IN VOKI
-Another idea that I like as a
final task, less complicated, is to create characters and to tell jokes or
little stories with them, in the app Voki. Everyone has to create three
characters. It is the maximum that you can do in Voki without paying.
Here you have the three characters that I have created:
Bat telling jokes
Seafood diet
A bear in a disco
